Recently, Kristen was explaining to Kaia as she came off the "thinking chair" that hitting her brother is not a good choice. It is painful and hurts her brother's feelings. She gave the non-violence reminder a solemn nod and replied, "Yes, mama. I don't want to hurt Brae anymore. I'll just tell him I'll only hit him once a day.

Braeden caught his first fish Friday night - a little large mouth bass! He was VERY excited:)

First trip to the dentist! Braeden tried several times to say "see ya later" before it was his turn to sit in the dentist's chair. The dentist got him to laugh by saying "whose alligator teeth are these?" Their teeth look great. So far, so good!

 We have been taking advantage of the massive amounts of snow Mt Hood has been receiving to go backcountry and cross-country skiing. This past weekend the twins were skied into Badger Creek Wilderness and spent a night winter camping. Braeden looked outside at the stars and yelled, "Dad! I see Venus!" He was right!

It snowed 9 inches over the two days and the twins woke up to a snow-covered tent.

Jan 2012

We had such a great holiday break with the family.  We spent a weekend backcountry skiing at Cooper Spur on Mt. Hood.  The following weekend we returned to stay at a rustic cabin and the twins went sledding, built snow people, built a snow fort and had a good old snow ball fight with our friends and their kids. Then we went cross-country skiing around Trillium Lake with a beautiful sunny view of Mt Hood. Welcome 2012! 

December 2011

Christmas Morning:

One morning as Kristen was getting dressed for work, feeling "hip"as she chose a belt to wear over a white cardigan like the models are wearing in the seasonal magazines. Braeden took one look at this ensemble and asked "Mom, why are you wearing a seat belt?"

One day in the car, Braeden looked at Kristen horrified right after he rolled down the car window and "accidentally" bounced Kaia's squishy yellow toy lizard out of it. He said, "Ohh..uh oh!" Kristen watched in the rear view mirror as the following car ran over it. Kaia let out a soft cry and Brae reached over to her, grabbed her hand and said, "Sorry, Kai." A touching moment and (hopefully) a life lesson learned.
